Windows 11 was officially announced as the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system on June 24, 2021. Naturally, you’ll probably want to know if your Windows 10 computer will be able to run the new update and gain new features. Microsoft has a handy tool to help you check.

Microsoft has released a “PC Health Check” app that, among other things, can tell you if your PC meets the system requirements to run Windows 11. These system requirements can also be found on the Microsoft site if you are interested.

To check if your Windows PC can run Windows 11, download the “ Checking PC Status” (clicking on the hyperlink will start the download immediately).

Then open the downloaded file and agree to the terms to install it.

Then check the box “Open Windows PC Health Check” and select “Finish”.

If you get the message that your PC cannot run Windows 11, chances are it has to do with Secure Boot or Trusted Platform Module (TPM). These are security features that can cause the Health Check app to consider your PC to be insecure and therefore not compatible with Windows 11.

But don’t worry and hurry to buy a new computer right away. Microsoft said it will continue to support Windows 10 until October 14, 2025.
