After Snapchat Stories, almost every social media platform has brought Stories to their platform in some way. From Instagram to WhatsApp and now to Twitter, Stories are catching on and becoming a more mainstream way to instantly consume content on smartphones. However, if you’re put off by Fleets on Twitter (the Twitter equivalent of Stories) and want to turn it off immediately, you’ve come to the right place. Here we show you how to disable fleets on Twitter in a simple 3-point guide. So without further ado, let’s get started.
Disable Fleets on Twitter
1. To deactivate Fleets on Twitter, you will need to mute every fleet on twitter. Once you mute all fleets, Twitter will stop showing the fleets bar at the top. To do this, long press on a fleet and choose “Mute @TwitterHandle”. Next, select “Mute fleets”.
2. Once you have cut all the fleets, the fleets bar at the top will just disappear from Twitter. Note that, unlike Instagram, Twitter does not gray out fleets of mute accounts, but removes them from the homepage altogether.
3. To reactivate fleets on twitter, you need to visit the mute twitter handle profile. On the profile page, just tap “Unmute”. That’s it.
Disable Twitter Fleets on Android and iOS
This is how you can disable Twitter Fleets from Android and iOS devices. Currently, Twitter does not have a native option to disable fleets. However, you can use this method to immediately disable fleets on Twitter. I know it’s not the most efficient way to disable fleets, but right now there aren’t many options available at the moment. You can also try other Twitter clients to avoid fleets. Anyway, it all comes from us. If you have any questions, comment below and let us know.
