It’s been years since Microsoft introduced its own notification channel on Windows 10 with new APIs and an Action Center, but it’s been a disappointing experience so far. Especially when using Chrome, notifications are delayed and the action center does not show action buttons, which is really not helpful. So, if you’re happy with Chrome’s native notification on Windows 10, here’s how to enable it. You just need to turn off a Chrome flag and that’s about it.
Restore Native Chrome Notification on Windows 10 (2021)
1. Open chrome://flags and search for “native notifications”. Now click on the drop-down menu and turn it off.
2. Then click on the button «To restart» in the lower right corner to apply the changes.
3. Now if you receive a notification on Chrome, it will not use Windows 10 notification API, instead prompts you through its own channel which is much faster and also has quick action buttons.
4. Additionally, on Chrome’s native notification, you also get a quick option to block or allow notification to reappear.
Bring Back Native Chrome Notification on Windows 10
This is how you can restore native Chrome notification on Windows 10 with just a flag change. Google has made changes to Chrome to make it adaptable to the platform it uses. However, when it comes to Windows, it’s best to stick with its native notification because the action center is slow to respond and I really hate its slow UI. Anyway, it all comes from us.
