If you’re a new Slack user and you press the up arrow key on your keyboard, the productivity app moves your focus to the message list. Here’s how you can change the functionality of the up arrow to quickly change your last sent message.
Start by launching the Slack client on your Windows 10 PC, Mac, Where Linux computer, or open the Slack web app in the browser of your choice. From there, click on the name of your workspace which is located in the upper left corner of the window.
Select the “Preferences” option from the drop-down menu.
Then go to the “Accessibility” tab and choose the option “Edit your last post” under “Press [Up Arrow] In the The Empty Message Field To ”list.
You can now exit the menu and open a Slack conversation. Click in the empty text box, then press the up arrow on your keyboard.
Now, without having to first click in a menu of options, you can edit your last message. When you are finished, press the Enter key or click the “Save Changes” button.
A small “Modified” text box will appear on the right side of your post to let everyone know that the original communication has been edited. Slack doesn’t offer revision history, so don’t worry about your coworkers coming back and checking your typo.
