Android TV has a built-in screen saver feature, but its functionality is quite limited. You cannot set your own images as screen saver, nor can you customize the aspect ratio or change the transition effect. Set Custom Screensavers on Android TV

1. Firstly, open Play Store on your Android TV and search for “screensaver”. Install now Photo gallery and screen saver (release, offers in-app purchases) app.

2. After installing the app, open it and go to “Settings”.

3. Here, open “ Photo Sources“.

4. Next, scroll down and open ” Local » if you want to set custom screensavers on Android TV from local storage. If you want to connect your Google Photos screensaver, you can do that too.

5. Now click on “ Add local directory“, then grant permission to access local storage.

6. After that, open ” Shared internal storage“.

7. Here, click on “ Choose current directory» at the top. You’ve finally added all of Android TV’s local storage to the app.

8. Now open the settings again and open ” Configure your screen saver“.

9. Here, open “Screen saver” and choose ” Photo gallery and screen saver“. You can also customize the idle period as to when the custom screensaver will be activated.

10. Finally, you’re done. To test the custom screen saver, go ahead and click ” Your default settings» in the «Start Screen Saver» section.

11. Now the screensavers will be live on your Android TV. AT?? From now on, the app will launch the custom screensavers on your Android TV based on the idle time you set.

12. If the photos are not appearing on the app, just click ” Sync nowat???? to rescan all images in your local directory.
