Although it’s quite simple to capture screenshots on iPhone with the combination of home/volume and side buttons, it doesn’t always seem like the appropriate or practical way. Times when iPhone buttons are damaged/not working or the pronounced buttons on the case installed on the device seem to be too rigid to offer a quick click, another way to take screenshots without using buttons on the iPhone becomes the preferred method. And that is precisely what I will talk about in this article.
Take Screenshots Without Using Buttons on iPhone
Some people have difficulty pressing physical buttons, especially people with disabilities. Therefore, it is possible to have alternative methods that can make it painless to capture screenshots on iPhone without having to deal with physical buttons.
Thanks to AssistiveTouch, taking screenshots on an iOS device is incredibly easy. Once you set it up, all you need to do to take the screen is with a single click. Additionally, the all-new Backspace feature introduced in iOS 14 also lets you take screenshots with just a double or triple tap on the back of your iPhone.
In this guide, we have discussed both methods so that you can choose which one works best for you. So let’s go !
Capture Screenshots on iPhone Using AssistiveTouch
First, we need to enable AssistiveTouch and ideally configure it to take screenshots.
- Start the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Press Accessibility.
3. Press To touch.
4. Press Support contact then enable the toggle.
5. Now the AssistiveTouch button will appear on the screen. If you want to take a screenshot with one click, tap the One click in the Custom Actions section. After that select Screenshot. From now on, all you have to do to take the screen is just press the Assistive Touch button.
Similarly, you can also choose to customize the double tap or long tap actions to take a screenshot on your device.
To note:
- What if you don’t want to turn the AssistiveTouch button into a simple screen capture tool? Well, if you want to take full advantage of the AssistiveTouch menu to perform other actions like access notifications, control center, or volume adjustment, make sure you don’t customize the actions.
- Don’t worry, you can still capture the screenshot using AssistiveTouch. To do this, tap the AssistiveTouch menu -> Device -> More -> Screenshot.
Take a Screenshot on iPhone Using Back-Tap Feature on iPhone
To start, we need to configure the Back Tap feature to capture screenshots.
- Start the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Now press Accessibility.
3. Then press To touch.
4. Next, press the Rear tap options at the bottom.
5. Then select Double tap or triple tap option, then select Screenshot. After that exit the settings.
In the future, you can take the screenshot on your iOS device by simply double or triple tapping the back of your device.
Capture screenshots on iPhone without using physical buttons
This is how you can make the screenshot process a little easier on your iPhone. Personally, I prefer using AssistiveTouch to take screenshots because I find it super convenient.
By the way, what’s your favorite way to take a screenshot on iPhone? It would be great to have your feedback.
